See it, draw it, own it (in your mind) Once you have drawn an object, location or person the shapes and details are yours to keep so the pencil is always in the suitcase, ready for new well designed beauties, shorelines and adventures.

The INKredible Adventures of Drawboy - Making curves

Go make your own lines on some infinite pure surface. Make your creative mark straight from your brain onto paper. Consuming impressions is the most sustainable joy available and drawing is the best way to use your impressions and pratice your curves:)
If you want to feel the rush and speed of creativity you need to give in to chance and gravity. Falling or flying, that is a question of opinion. If you aim high you need to go downwards in-between. Drawing is all about the right mix of curves and straight lines.

"Getting the impossible shot" Tribute to Clark Little and the beauty of water

The Hawaiian photographer Clark Little is daily posting the most fantastic and inspiring photos from inside the waves and waters of Hawaii.

To celebrate his great work I wanted to try to do the impossible shot as a drawing where you are both inside and above water with the photographer in the eye of the action. Right where the water meets the air is the spot where Clark catches his amazing pictures and with risk and great skill he really brings out the pure magic of moving water.

The water surrounding Denmark is quite a bit colder but we all know that all water on the planet somehow is connected and what we do here will have affect in far away places. Water should be treated with the respect that it deserves since it is the only single thing that makes this planet different from any other dust ball floating around in space. 

Thanks Clark for getting into the eye of the action and getting all those impossible shots.

The INKredible Adventures of Drawboy #26

"You are what you draw and each drawing is an image of you".
DrawBoy is originally a title I gave myself when people asked what my job was at the advertising agency I used to work at. The name kind of grew on me because it describes the craft of drawing in it's purest form. This was and is the craft I love and it is my favourite meditation and expression.
So DrawBoy is my superhero and alter ego. He tries to catch as many impressions as possible, stack them in his memory and merge them into visuals and concepts. It all starts with the simple pencil and the white surface of the paper or whatever media you choose.
"So go chase those images and make them your own. Consuming and creating images are the most sustainable type of consumption you can imagine"

Still "Emergency on planet earth"

This is my interpretation of a 2017 version of the 1993 Jamiroquai album "Emergency on planet Earth"

On May 17, 1993. 24 years ago, something epic and magic happened on my musical world map. For many years I had been into jazz, funk and soul and I had been chasing rare vinyl albums in strange record stores since my early teens. Suddenly this album "Emergency on planet Earth" landed on my turntable and a lot of dots connected. Suddenly the music I loved for it's groovy ear catching quality carried a message of purpose. Not just the usual text subjects but danceable music that actually at the same time made you think. In the middle of this small revolution (in my book) stood the amazing Jay Kay who in some way managed to merge funk with a purpose. He displayed the coolest style in a mix of sporty, hippie and funky, and he could dance like never seen before. I was blown away and many years later when I first sketched the idea to my story universe Rebel Nature, it was actually to the sound of Jamiroquai.
Jamiroquai and Jay Kay represents the perfect picture of the situation our civilisation is facing right now. They amplify the knowledge about our planet and environment and the epic challenges we face yet at the same time they have a party and dance the worries away. Living the dream with fast cars, private jets and models in bikinis.
When raising kids they do what you do, not what you say, so in this case we tent to hear the music, have the party, dream about the star life and then forget the purpose.

If this post ever reached Jay Kay, I would beg Jamiroquai to reissue "Emergency on planet Earth" in a 2017 version or 2018 making it a 25 years anniversary, and have Jay Kay drive a electric supercar.

RebelNature concept drawing of Mutated Brittlestar emerging from the deep

I you wonder what effect the plastic pollution of the oceans has on the marine life then meet this new mutated gadget wearing brittlestar, crawling up the metal leg of RIG21 in the Rebel Nature universe.
Sadly there is plenty of food for this new specie and it is just a taste of what is happening deeper down. This is not a "bad-guy" in the common sense. It is evolution mixed with human waste and technology.

NOT just another day at the Ghost office!!!

It was never in question but today it is official that Ghost VFX deliver the stuff legends are made of. The poster you see here with dedication from ILM and the director, appeared in the Ghost office and we all vent to Copenhagen's biggest cinema to see Rogue One and guess who was on the creditlist...
Ghost VFX is simply the best and most dedicated company with the coolest crew.
It is amazing, quite surreal and historic for a Danish company and it promises great for future epic projects like our own Rebel Nature. Christmas definitely came early this year.

This visual is an attempt to show what I intend to deliver through my new company called Faber Fuel. It also marks the launch of a Gallery where I will collect my original artwork, photos and concepts from the past and present. Please visit, like, comment and share (That is my best fuel).

The name Faber Fuel comes from the idea of this faraway FF "Gas"station in the middle of an amazing rocky dessert where all kind of vehicles and characters land to get re-fueled before going on new adventures. The travelers both give and get inspiration and stories and they know that this is no ordinary fuel. It is FF Zero G and it neutralizes gravity giving amazing positive lift and power to go anywhere. Zero G basically gives you the power to travle infinite distances and infinite time in a single thought with almost no harmful emission:)
The FF station is just a thought away and I hope to see you there for a refill, a chat and new adventures.

With the discovery of a new Earthlike planet reasonably close to us the idea of arriving to a new world gives lots of new inspiration. This is my first visual thought on this subject and maybe you can spot something familiar on the beach. If the content is organic or robotic that is up to your imagination. Any thoughts?:)

Low gravity craft concept sketches

Rainy days are good for especially one thing and that is free sketching on the Ipadpro. Here you have 2 crafts/vehicles form a low gravity planet where vehicles can float just above the surface if they have  zero gravity tanks abord. Maybe I can find place for these in the future edition of #RebelNature or some other type of story/universe.

Iron Giant from Mondo! My perfect birthday present for myself. Yes it is nerdy but fantastic at the same time. It is big and fully posable. I will have to do an unboxing video when it arrives! More about that later...

A model match made in heaven

In my street in Frederiksberg/Copenhagen, in a almost hidden basement lies one of the greatest nerd shops. Stoppel Hobby and they have anything a model nerd could wish for.

Last weekend I found this "unthinkable" product. It is the blend of 3 of my most important childhood influences: Airfix meets LEGO meets Spitfire. Amazing! I haven't seen any advertising for this product but it is so cool.
Of cause it doesn't have the detail level of normal Airfix models but I put it together in 5 minutes, without glue or paint! then it is ready play or display. That would have saved me a lot of poisonous paint/glue time and headaches in my childhood.

Why RebelNature?

The reason for RebelNature literally lies below the surface. This is an epic challenge and the future generations will judge us if we don't start to deal with this global issue.

Some very early RebelNature inspiration from a surprising well

One of my childhood heroes was the legendary Jacques Cousteau and his TV programs about the adventures on Calypso around the globe (more about him later)

Another hero was the author of this sticker collection book that my father got for me at the local gas-station back in 1972. 

I was 6 years old and started my collection right away. This was my introduction to 2 very important elements of my future life. The magic world under the waves and the magic world of advertising. Of cause I got my dad to use the same brand every time we needed gas and advertising became part of my childhood. The book was filled with info and great pictures in a time where there was no digital or internet and great professional color photos were rare. It also had futuristic underwater equipment and a concept painting of the future under water. This was the first concept painting I ever saw and it blew my mind. I wanted to be able to draw stuff like that.

I believe that creativity is connecting the dots (thank you Steve) so it is no coincidence that #RebelNature makes a connection between underwater natural life and evolution and technologic progress and the hunt for resources.
I find it a bit ironic that this piece of inspiration for #RebelNature came from a petrol company.

Finding inspiration for Res Waveborn of RebelNature in surfmode

Denmark is not the biggest surfnation but the first weekend of august I went surfing in some small (1m) waves in the north of Sealand with my 2 daughters and this gave plenty of inspiration for Res from RebelNature in her surf mode. Here my oldest daughter poses in silhouette. I think I'm going to use that silhouette for something in #RebelNature

Getting inspiration and sketching Goodman Rock Research Station. A new RebelNature location

#GoodmanRock Research Station is taking shape. It is build on a rugged rock formation jutting out of the deep ocean. This is one of the important locations in the #RebelNature universe. It is part of the prehistory of #Rig21. The story is being build like a giant unfinished puzzle so the adventure and mystery grows with every piece.

 Vacation time is also inspiration time so here I am at the small Danish island Bornholm where the rocky formations gives lots of inspiration for Goodman Rock.
In the picture of the cave I have just been 70m inside a very narrow cave where apparently lives a very big cave spider that bites:) Found out about that after I came out and my Iphone and only lightsource ran out of power half way out.

Great inspiration for RebelNature
