#RebelVlog1 I think that my favorite Bionicle experience was reading through the early catalogs in 2003. Seeing the Toa Nuva and the Bohrok-Kal really caught my eye. My favorite part of those early Bionicle years was the mystery. The sheer mysteriousness and awe and wonder of the atmosphere just made my day. The concept and background art really made the story feel real.
ReplyDeleteI'd say that a huge part of making the story feel real was also the sheer number of new places and things to learn about. You had the island of Mata-nui, the concept art of which gave it the right feel for sure, but more importantly (at least to me), you had the villages and other locations with exotic names there, you had tons of cool new creatures to learn about and you were introduced to such concepts as the Kanohi masks. I think that's what did it for me at least.
Delete#RebelVlog1 Man, my favorite experience with Bionicle, by far, was reading the comics every month. I remember being so shocked when Lewa was revealed to have been taken over by a Krana. Lewa was my favorite toa, so seeing him fall to the Bohrok didn't make any sense to little ol' me and I was so worried for him until, of course, next month's issue.
ReplyDelete#RebelVlog1 Asking me to pick a favorite Bionicle experience is a tough question, as it defined ten whole years of my childhood and continues to be a huge part of my adulthood. Between reading the books and comics, every time I got a new set or playing MNOG for the first time, it's a hard choice - but in the end I have to pick the day when I got my first Bionicle (Toa Pohatu) back in 2001. The marketing material already hooked me so I had my parents take me to a local toy store the day I knew Bionicle would first become available, and my lifelong passion and hobby began.
ReplyDeleteHello Mr. Faber! May I ask, that bit of your game you showed us (That part with HTC Vive), is it going to be playable on regular PC too, or will I need a VR headset?
ReplyDeleteThank you.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite Bionicle experience is when I thought the island of Mata Nui would be expanded upon, until in 2004 I saw Metru Nui. It really surprised me because the build of the Toa drastically changed and the setting also changed to a more robotic style land instead of the lovely island.

Delete#RebelVlog1 I guess that, if I have to pick just one experience, it's going to be the process of creating my own characters from the Bionicle sets that I'd collected as well as (and especially) creating the stories for them. Acting out those stories was much fun too, but the joy of being able to create your own universe is unlike almost anything else I have ever experienced and it has stuck with me ever since the days of making my own little MOCs.
ReplyDeleteWhy u didnt join g2 bionicle?
ReplyDeleteAnd is this a game?Movie? When is this released ?
#RebelVlog1 My personal favourite BIONICLE experience was probably around summer of 2015 when the first leaks and rumours around the reboot started to surface. The anticipation, the excitement, the speculation, my first time interacting with the community... it was great. If the giveaway is still open I would certainly be interested in it. And I also wanted to ask how you handle/handled the shipping of the items.
