This is why I do Rebel Nature

On an amazing beach in Zanzibar where the tide shifts by 3m, this kind of seashell constantly appear from the Indian ocean. We humans are at the top of the food cain so one day we (or our children) will be eating our own trash. Talking about our daily convenience becoming the nightmare of the future. Water is the most precious substance on this planet and anyone with any kind of surplus regardless of religion or political orientation ought to start cleaning up. In the Rebel Nature story nature starts using these new materials and builds them into new lifeforms which has extreme and unpredictable consequences.

The Turaga Files Teaser

Yesterday I went into the basement under Advance in Copenhagen to recover some of the old stuff and I made this little teaser video to test my new GoPro setup.
Among all kinds of strange stuff I found what I had hoped fore; Products, promos, visuals and the "Black Box" containing all the original sketches that were part of creating the legend. Stay tuned for the unboxing and sorry for the shaky hand/head held camera.

East Africa snapshots part 1. Tanzania and Zanzibar February 2015

Until now Africa has been a blank spot on my map but now I have spent 2 weeks in this raw and wild part of our world and it has been an eye-opener in many ways. The raw and awesome wildlife experience. The close up “survival of the fittest” or “hunt or be hunted”. The simple and tough living of people outside of the tourist areas. The rejection of modern living by the Masai tribes and the ever present environmental threat that nature is exposed to. Here You can see some of my best shots from the trip.

Here is a snapshot of my work desk right now. A strong cup of coffe (in an limited edition Bionicle/Hero Factory promo mug) and piles of old sketches (if you look closely you can see the first time the word BIONICLE was written). On my screen the outlines of my new company is taking shape. Faber Fuel, with the rebel rocket icon.

To file 28 years of work, sketches and thoughts is a job on its own. Especially because I have a strange habit of keeping all the work sketches.  Sketches are my fuel and my product so there you have the backstory of the name. I am starting to get an overview and warming up to filming the unboxing of what turns out to be several crates stored in the basement deep under Advance in Copenhagen. So please have patience. Early HF EXO conceptsketch

In 2015 everything is new and Bionicle is back. Hero Factory has closed the doors to the building in Makuhero City. I have been working on the HF concept since the very beginning and here is an early concept sketch from 2013 when the hero Exo suits were put on the table.
