The future looks bright from Turaga beach

  1. Dear all blog readers. I just want to point out that I NEVER post any official or current or coming story or material on this site. This is to be considered as a piece of fan fiction. NOT OFFICIAL, NOT CANON, just a comment to the great news of Bionicle returning seen from a 2001 point of view. Turaga beach is a metaphor for the place where all the old fans see the news. They have great knowledge but can't predict the future. It is a great and thrilling view!

  3. Bionicle was a life changing part of my world for more than 10 years and I'm extremely proud of having been a part of the creation of a modern legend. For 10 years I was living almost inside the legend and I feel that I did the right thing at the right time which is the ultimate you can wish for as a creative. I won't bore you with the details but lets just say that, when it comes to Bionicle now, I have become Turaga. It is crucial that Bionicle gets new energy and that is what has happened. I will watch from the beach as new creative heroes set off into the sunset and enjoy the rays of the new legend. I have new and different stories to tell and I hate repeating myself;)

  6. What mask is the Turaga supposed to be wearing? Is it one of the Hero Factory helmets?

  7. The Turaga is a fast drawing made from memory so it is kind of all Turaga and non specific. It is set on the skybackground of the original Mata Nui standing poster with the shadow still hanging in the haze. I read a comment on BZPower about a village of Turaga that is living close to Turaga beach where they are waiting for news. This is a fantastic image that instantly creates pictures and ideas in my mind. Bionicle is such an amazing block of clay that can be shaped into the coolest adventures. Love that some of the feeling from back in 2000-2002 is back:)

  8. This is really lovely work. THe colors, the textures, and the overall atmosphere make for a great "fan piece." Makes me even more excited for the return. Thanks for sharing your work, Mr. Faber!

  9. Is this your last picture for Bionicle? I hope not, your artwork has been incredible throughout the original years of Bionicle. I just hope Lego knows what there doing for 2015. I want people to always remember the original years...

  10. Very well-done! I especially like the clever addition of Matoran text. Even if it isn't canon, it's a wonderful piece of Bionicle artwork.

I do have one question, though: you have posted many previously unreleased Bionicle images and videos... but have you ever considered posting audio? For example, I've always enjoyed the music used in the 2-minute Mistika film and the instrumental version of Gravity Hurts, but I've never been able to find the music on its own, without dialogue or sound effects. I am a music fan like you, and have a special affinity for the music of Bionicle.

Again, great job on Turaga Beach!

  11. I'm curious. Do you think the LEGO Group might consider selling an "Art of BIONICLE" Book in the future?
